Summer Retreat

We have been meeting as the Los Angeles People’s Movement Assembly since October when the racist tapes were leaked. In the past seven months, we’ve been learning from other movements such as the People’s Assemblies in Chicago and the Southern Movement Assembly.

We also heard from solidarity economy leaders Kali Akuno of Cooperation Jackson and David Cobb of Dishgamu Humboldt, from whom we learned about the differences between vision, strategy, and tactics. We will retreat this summer to define our vision and strategy.
